Dagmar is currently part-time education research fellow with SiMERR National Research Centre, University of New England (UNE). She creates curriculum-related science learning tools for the SiMERR Science of Learning Research Centre. Over 16 years, Dagmar has worked as a senior project officer in science education with the NSW Department of Education and the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority and has lectured and consulted in science education with three NSW universities. Over 2004-2009, Dagmar was the senior project leader in the development of the Essential Secondary Science Assessment (ESSA).
