Video infographic: 21st Century skills

Preparing students for life after school and the workforce includes equipping them with skills like problem solving, collaboration and creative and critical skills.

Despite the global interest in these capabilities, there remains a lack of agreement on what terms should be used. The terms vary greatly across the world – in Singapore, the phrase ‘critical enabling skills' is used, ‘employability skills' and ‘core competencies' in Canada, and in Australia the terms ‘key competencies, employability skills, generic skills and general capabilities' are all frequently used and accepted.
