We’re thrilled to share that our annual reader survey is opening today. It’s the seventh year in a row we have invited you to share your feedback, and this year, if you’re in Australia completing our survey, you’ll go into the draw to win a $500 VISA prepaid gift card.
Our survey gives you the opportunity to share what type of content you enjoy seeing from Teacher, which topics you’d like to see covered, and how you’re using our content in your own school settings.
All the information you provide us is crucial to ensuring we can continue to make content that best supports you in your work as an educator, and reach you in the ways that are most beneficial to your practice.
The impact of your feedback
Each year we look forward to reading all of the feedback and ideas you’ve taken the time to communicate to us. Your opinions are invaluable to the Teacher team, and we prioritise implementing your suggestions.
In past years, you’ve let us know topics like leadership, behaviour management and inclusive education are important to you. However, given our unique experiences throughout 2020, in last year’s survey many of your shared how COVID-19 affected your teaching practices and wellbeing. In response to this, we shared an article series on how educators across the country were learning from lockdown, and a podcast episode about how the remote learning experience could lead to future changes and innovations in practice.
You also mentioned how important taking care of your own wellbeing outside school hours is. In response to this, we launched a brand new publication, Wellbeing by Teacher, to bring you reliable, evidence-based content addressing all aspects of wellbeing.
You can sign up at our website to receive our free fortnightly Wellbeing by Teacher newsletter on Saturday mornings to find out more about topics like mental health, nutrition and fitness. You’re also able to share your own wellbeing tips and stories with us.
Sharing your stories
If you’ve completed our survey before, you’ll know one question that features in the survey is: Looking back on your experience as an educator, if you could share one piece of advice with your peers, what would it be? To give you some inspiration, here are some responses we’ve received in the past.
