Sylvia Wood is a Science Teacher at Scoresby Secondary College in Melbourne’s East. She is currently Coordinator of Year 8 and teaching Junior Science. She is always interested in finding new ways to inspire students to study science. Sylvia has had a wide range of experience in the classroom and held a number of different roles within the school. She was involved in implementing a program to promote the participation of girls in science.

Sylvia has three children and two grandchildren. She has many interests including cooking, gardening, knitting and spending time outdoors. Sylvia once represented Australia in Belgium for the IPF Women’s World Powerlifting Championships.
