Associate Professor Graeme Gower (PhD) is a descendant of the Yawuru people of Broome, Western Australia and has been involved in Indigenous education for 40 years, eight years as a primary school teacher and 33 years in higher education. He is currently the Project Lead of the On Country Teacher Education Training (OCTE) program in the School of Education at Curtin University. The OCTE program targets Aboriginal and Islander Education Workers throughout WA to train as primary school teachers, while remaining in their communities.
