Today we are delighted to announce the shortlist for the 2024 Teacher Awards, following a successful period of nominations during Term 3. The 25 entries – from all school sectors and 5 states in Australia – will now progress to the final judging.
The Teacher Awards were launched last year to further celebrate the incredible work of teachers, school leaders and support staff working K-12 school settings across Australia who are lifting student achievement and wellbeing.
‘Congratulations to the 2024 shortlisted finalists – it’s wonderful to be able to recognise their efforts through the Teacher Awards,’ Teacher Editor, Jo Earp says. ‘This is the second year we’ve run the awards, and it’s been another great selection of entries from across the country, showcasing not just excellent leadership, classroom practice and collaborations, but also the people who are making such a positive difference to school communities.’
The 2024 Judging Panel is comprised of 11 experts in education: Professor Geoff Masters, Professor Lyn Sharratt, Professor Pasi Sahlberg, Professor Pauline Taylor-Guy, Associate Professor Marnee Shay, Professor Amy Cutter-Mackenzie-Knowles, Dr Troy Meston, Dr Kat Ross, Ben Sacco, Alex Wharton and Mali Jorm.
The winners of the 8 Award categories will be announced in September.
