Teacher Magazine Reader Survey terms and conditions

The Australian Council for Educational Research Ltd (ABN: 19 004 398 145) (‘ACER’) is conducting a competition for participants in a survey facilitated by its publication ‘Teacher Magazine’.

By completing the web form located at https://www.teachermagazine.com/form/reader-survey as specified below you are entering into the competition and agreeing to the terms and conditions of the competition below.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Competition opens 27/10/25, 7.00am AEDT and ends 28/11/2025, 5.00pm AEDT.
  2. Each survey participant (individual) in the Teacher Magazine Reader Survey has the opportunity to enter themselves into the ‘Teacher Magazine Reader Survey’ Promotion (‘the Competition’).
  3. Entry in the Competition is:
    1. Gained via the successful completion of the web form located at https://www.teachermagazine.com/form/reader-survey between the dates of 27/10/25 and 28/11/25.
    2. ‘Successful completion’ is defined as completing all fields required by the web form followed by confirmation through digital submission. This is the sole method of entry.
    3. Limited to one entry per survey participant.
    4. Not open to employees of ACER or members of their immediate families.
    5. Not open to residents of countries outside of Australia.
    6. Incorrectly completed entries will not be considered.
    7. ACER may, in its sole discretion, disqualify all entries from, and prohibit further participation in this Competition by, any person who acts in violation of these terms and conditions or in any way in connection with this Competition engages in misconduct. What constitutes misconduct being in the sole discretion of ACER.
    8. If for any reason this Competition or any part thereof is not able to be conducted, ACER may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Competition, or invalidate any affected entries, subject to the approval of the relevant gaming authorities, if required.
  4. Prize:
    1. Each entry goes into the draw for a prize consisting of:
      1. A book bundle from Amba Press valued at $550.
    2. The winner will be sent physical books. Purchase and freight costs of the prize will be paid by Amba Press.
  5. Lottery:
    1. The winner will be drawn by lottery from email addresses of entrants who successfully completed the web form for entry.
    2. The lottery will be conducted at 10.00am (AEDT) on the first day of December 2025 (01/12/25). The lottery will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
    3. The winner will be advised personally via email and have their name and state/territory of residence published in an article on the Teacher Magazine website http://www.teachermagazine.com on 01/12/25.
    4. The winner has 90 days from the date of publication in item (c) above to claim their prize by emailing teachereditor@acer.org.
    5. Should the winner not claim their prize in accordance with item (d) above, a second chance draw shall be conducted at the offices of ACER, 19 Prospect Hill Road, Camberwell, Victoria, at 3.00pm on 02/03/26. If, after the completion of this draw and subsequent correspondence to the new winners, prizes remain unclaimed, the relevant prizes shall be deemed unclaimed and forfeit. Such forfeited prizes or their equivalent monetary value will be retained by ACER for future promotional use.
  6. Privacy and Consent to Use of Your Personal Information:
    1. By entering the Competition, the entrants and winner consent to:
      1. Having the winner’s name and state/territory of residence published in such promotional activity and materials related to the competition;
      2. ACER using supplied email addresses and other personal information provided for promotional purposes. When entrants supply ACER with personal information such as names and addresses, ACER records it on an ACER database and may use it to contact entrants in the future.
    2. Email addresses of entrants will not be provided to any person or organisation outside ACER.
    3. Each time ACER sends entrants direct marketing communication, ACER will provide a simple way to ‘opt out’ of receiving similar communications. Entrants may also inform ACER that they do not wish to receive further communications or wish to change any personal information ACER has on record by contacting:Jo Earp, Editor, Teacher Magazine, ACER,

    4. Privacy Statement: Any Personal Information you provide is (subject to the consents given above) private, confidential, and will be treated according to applicable law. Such information will only be used for the purposes specified in these terms and conditions. ACER is bound to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and its ACER Privacy Policy. You have a right to access your personal information held by ACER and may request amendments if you believe it is incorrect.
