Teachers play a vital role in shaping the people we become. Beyond helping us to develop knowledge and skills, they nurture our confidence, see our potential and guide us towards our future pathways.
To celebrate World Teachers’ Day this year, we asked 5 educators to ‘tell us about a teacher that helped to shape the person you are today.’
In this very special video, you’ll hear from Michael Ha, Deputy Principal, Toogoolawa School, QLD; Holly Wedd, Head Teacher Mathematics, Orara High School, NSW; Dr Annette Rome, Principal of St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar, VIC; Dr Daniel Groenewald, Manager, Leadership Development, Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools; and Julie Murkins, Senior Research Fellow, Australian Council for Educational Research.
The videos were recorded at the Australian Council for Educational Leader’s National Conference in Perth.
