Flexible professional learning allows school educators to focus on the skills relevant to their work. Free, self-paced online modules make it easier to fit learning into busy teaching schedules.
Since launching in July 2024, the online Micro-credentials for Classroom Confidence have received over 13,000 registrations of interest from educators across Australia.
Funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and delivered by Adelaide University, the 3 micro-credentials in this series have been designed by experts in direct response to teacher needs, offering strategies that can be applied directly in the classroom.
The micro-credentials are:
- Free for Australian-based teachers, school leaders, classroom support staff, and pre-service teachers.
- Flexible and self-paced, allowing school educators to complete their learning around existing commitments.
- Recognised professional learning, counting towards annual PD requirements.
- Co-designed with representatives from government and non-government education authorities and other relevant professional organisations, ensuring alignment with priorities and terminology across systems and jurisdictions.
The micro-credentials offer a potential credit pathway to a Master of Education via the free online Classroom Confidence Assessment Credential.
The 3 micro-credentials cover the topics of Classroom Management, Explicit Teaching and Teaching Phonics. Each micro-credential includes 4 distinct modules, with 48 hours of learning for the full micro-credential or 12 hours for each stand-alone module.
Each module can be completed independently, giving school educators greater choice in tailoring their professional development to their needs.
Hear from school educators across the country about the positive impact the micro-credentials are having on their classrooms!
