Skills in action: Bring your students to Australia’s biggest skills show in Brisbane

The WorldSkills Australia National Championships and Skills Show is set to be an exciting event in 2025. Taking place on June 12, 13, and 14 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, the show promises to offer students an unparalleled opportunity to explore career pathways and engage with industry professionals.

Co-located with the Brisbane Careers and Employment Expo the event will provide an interactive experience where students can connect with educators and employers, participate in engaging demonstrations, and witness exciting competitions showcasing the nation’s top talent in over 60 skills and trades.

Whether they are seeking career advice, exploring vocational education, or simply curious about potential career pathways, the show provides a hands-on approach to learning about different industries. Students will have the chance to interact with both educators and employers, gaining direct insights into study programs, apprenticeships, and employment options.

 

Key highlights of the event

Over the course of 3 days, students will be able to:

  • Experience the WorldSkills Australia National Championships – A highlight of the event, this prestigious competition will see Australia’s most skilled competitors showcase their talents across 60 different trades and skills. Attendees can watch competitors vie for Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, giving them firsthand insight into the dedication and expertise required in various industries.
  • Try a skill for themselves – The "Try’a Skill" activation allows students to get hands-on experience in different trades and professions. From carpentry to automotive work, this activity gives students a fun and practical way to explore career options they may not have previously considered.
  • Discover a new kind of careers event at the Brisbane Careers and Employment Expo space – Unlike traditional expos, this event offers interactive experiences, career-focused seminars, and expert advice to help students make informed decisions about their future. 
  • Engage with over 160 educators, course providers, and employers – From universities and TAFEs to industry leaders and recruitment specialists, students will have access to a diverse range of exhibitors offering career guidance and training opportunities.
