For the last month, we have been asking for you to share your insights and feedback with us through our 10th annual reader survey. The survey concluded last week, and in this article, we’re excited to share the winner of our $500 prize and some of your responses.
For the past 10 years, our annual reader survey has been a highlight for the Teacher team – we love reading your feedback, suggestions and comments on how Teacher has helped you and your colleagues to reflect on and improve your practice.
For our 10th year, we took the opportunity to relaunch our survey with a new design and brand-new questions. Thank you to everyone who took the time to take part and share their insights.
Topics you’d like to see covered
Long-term readers of Teacher will know that we use your topic suggestions to inform the direction of our content for the upcoming 12 months. In this survey, you let us know you’d like more content on leadership, more research news articles, and for us to focus on topics like curriculum implementation, literacy, teacher wellbeing, and more.
It’s also great to hear you continue to love seeing our infographics, podcasts and reader submission articles.
What you love about your role
For the first time this year, we asked you to share with us what you love about your role. So many of you spoke about the unique aspects of your role that you love most. We look forward to sharing more of your responses in upcoming infographics, but for now, here are just some of your perspectives:
I love that I am able to make a difference and leave an impact in the world each and every day. (Primary school leader, NSW)
Making a difference to the children and families I work with – especially hearing from them years later to say how much they loved preschool. (Early years educator, Victoria)
I love seeing students’ achievements as they complete their education, especially those who overcome obstacles and go above and beyond. (K-12 teacher, Queensland)
Didn’t have the chance to complete our reader survey? You can leave your requests for content in the comments section below. We also always love to share practical examples of how educators are using evidence-informed approaches in their own context. If you’d like to share your story with us, you can email the team at teachereditorial@acer.org.
