Prof. Vimala Ramachandran has worked in education for more than three decades focusing on elementary education, girls’ education and women’s empowerment. She is the Managing Director of Education Research Unit, and has been National Program Manager for Mahila Samakhya, a women’s empowerment program of the Government of India, and National Fellow at the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration.
