Troy Ascott began teaching in 1995, travelling to London after finishing his studies at the University of Queensland. Upon returning to Australia, Troy has worked as a Teacher, Head of Department, Deputy Principal and Principal in a wide range of Queensland schools including Cloncurry State School, Roma Middle School, Chancellor State College and Rochedale, St George, Narangba Valley, Shailer Park and Coolum State High Schools. Troy was appointed Principal of Shailer Park State High School in late 2014, before taking up the position of Principal at Coolum State High School in late 2017. Troy is very interested in high yield, research-based teaching methods that can be effectively implemented across a whole school.
