Novelist and educator

Ingrid Laguna is an internationally published novelist and educator. She has written a memoir and numerous award-winning books for children, including Songbird, Sunflower, and Bailey Finch Takes a Stand. Her writing also features in various publications, including The Monthly, The Age and The AEU Magazine. She regularly presents to teachers and students at schools, libraries, festivals and conferences. She has had the privilege of working with Iraqi and Syrian children from refugee backgrounds for many years, which inspired her fist two children’s novels. She has a background in music, performance and project management. Outside of writing, Ingrid is passionately involved in the study of improvisation theatre.
