Mary-Ruth Mendel is Co-Founder, Co-Chair and Executive Director of the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (ALNF) and a Speech and Language Pathologist. ALNF established in 1999, is a national charity dedicated to raising language, literacy and numeracy standards in Australia. ALNF’s seven core programs span from early years learning through to adolescent and adult learning and address the needs of a diverse range of individuals and communities, including Indigenous, disadvantaged, refugee and migrant communities. The Early Language and Literacy Program reaches over 5000 children across five states and territories annually.
